Okay, this is a weird one. So, when I was working on "The Fighter's Crystal", I origionally had a prologue to the story. However, this didn't necessarily include the main character. Because of this, I took the prologue out. However, it was still something I wanted to still share with people. So, I took a little adventure and decided to make an audio recording of me reading The Murder of William Ruthford (Version 1).

Deciding to do this, I pulled out my handy mic and table mic stand out from my closet to do this tast! (And yes, I did have to pull it out because it kiiiiiiinda got stuck, lol!) I grabbed the version I tossed away and recorded myself reading this three page story.
Honeslty, thinking of it, it COULD be it's own story. Here was have William, this teenage boy, desperate to fit in with the "cool kids" at school. So, he goes out at night and tries to complete a dare they gave him. And instead of admitting defeat when he was caught by the guards, he...umm.... risks everything.
See, this is a huge reason I took it out from the book. HOWEVER, it still ties into the story! Ish. It's on the same planet. And you get a little sneak peak of a problem that occurs in the book. ;)

Oh, why am I calling it Version 1? Becuase this hasn't gone through recent edits. (I've been editing The Fighter's Crystal and have been focusing on that.) If I were, to say, re-edit it some, I may include it as bonus content in the book. We shall see on that though.
Anyways, if you want a small sneak peak into the Underground Society in Colinia, the video will be linked down below! Please note: this version had the intent of being a prologue, so it is still set up as such. Not everything will be answered in this story!
